Our Nursery was founded in 1972 through the efforts and generosity of local parents. It is now funded by East Sussex County Council and is an integral part of Wadhurst C.E. Primary School.

Our provision offers quality free nursery education with highly qualified and experienced teachers and practitioners. We work according to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, which enables children to learn through carefully structured play activities in order to achieve their potential. We place great importance on the value of learning through both indoor and outdoor play and operate a ‘free-flow’ system between the indoor facilities and our extensive outdoor areas. Our aim is to create a fun and stimulating environment in which the children feel happy and secure. 'All children are given a real sense of determining their own way forward, which guarantees their full involvement in all activities.' (Ofsted 2010)
ADMISSIONS
The Nursery is able to accommodate 50 children in total – 25 in the morning session and 25 in the afternoon session. We have intakes in September, January and April and children are eligible to start the term after their third birthday.
OPENING TIMES
From September 2012, we are able to offer a more flexible provision, with 4 options for accessing the 15 hours/week government vouchers for 3-year-olds:

Nursery hours are as follows:
8.45-11.45: AM session 11.45-12.30: Lunch Club 12.30-15.30: PM session
Lunch Club costs £3.50/session and takes place in the School Hall with Nursery supervisors. Currently children bring packed lunches, but we are planning to be able to provide hot meals along with the rest of the school.
There will also now be the possibility of buying extra sessions at a cost of £12.50/session, but this would be subject to availability. Sessions would be booked on a termly basis and would not be available on an occasional basis.
